The league was awarded the FA Charter Standard League Award in 2010 which recognises the work that is going on towards ensuring the league is sustainable, high standards are being achieved & delivered, and there is opportunity for coaches and volunteers to access training.
The league has also signed up to the FA's RESPECT programme to ensure girls can play, officials can officiate and spectators can watch the game without being abused, mocked, insulted, jeered, physically assaulted, unnecessarily criticised, pushed too hard, driven to tears or laughed at for trying.
Of course, RESPECT can only be effective if everyone in football understands their role and behaves in a way that is appropriate!

HEREFORDSHIRE GIRLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The league provides competitive football as follows:
U10 (School Years 4 & 5 from Sept 2011)
U12 (School Years 6 & 7 from Sept 2011)
U14 (School Years 8 & 9 from Sept 2011)
U16 (School Years 10 & 11 from Sept 2011)
The league also runs a League Cup and League Shield Competition throughout the season and regular U8 (Girls in Years 2 &3 from Sept 2011) Central Venue coaching sessions, so all girls can have a go at taking part!

GIRLS U8 'GET INTO FOOTBALL' SESSIONS
These take place monthly at Whitecross School, Three Elms Road, Hereford (Indoor Sports Hall) and are targeted at girls from School Years 2 and 3. The sessions offer players the chance to take part in fun, football sessions led by FA qualificed coaches, with the emphasis on having fun, developing skills and making new friends.
