FA McDonalds Course Programme

McDonald’s is dedicated to supporting coaches across the UK, helping them to develop the right practices and raise standards at grassroots level.

Since 2002, McDonalds has worked with The FA to train over 20,000 coaches across England, who in turn have provided over two million hours of free quality coaching to over one million young players.

As part of the FA McDonalds Coach Education Programme, the Herefordshire FA is delighted to announce FREE McDonalds Courses for Herefordshire FA Charter Standard Club coaches for 2012 as follows:

FA Youth Award Module 1 - Developing the Environment


This is the first course that focuses on young players and where they are developmentally (in the four corners of physical, psychological, technical and social aspects) and then packages football through a number of exciting new activities in such a way that it “fits” the child and not the other way round.
Module 1 is a 32-hour non-assessed course aimed at coaches who wish to extend their knowledge of coaching young players.
Minimum requirements
• Level 1 Award in Coaching Football;
• Qualified Teacher Status + Age Appropriate Coaching Introductory Module

FA Youth Award Module 2 "Understanding Practice"

Module 2 of The FA Youth Award focuses on developing practice sessions which are appropriate for young players of different ages, abilities and with different experience levels. This is more suited to coaches who want to develop their Knowledge further. The content on all modules is relevant for coaches working with young players of any age (5+), while some content can also be applied to adult football.
Module Two last four days (32 hours) and includes a formative assessment (you will prepare and deliver a practical session and feedback will be given – it is not pass or fail).
Minimum requirements
• The FA Youth Award Module 1.

FA Mentoring Adults

This Course is designed to support those who wish to develop their mentoring skills, to understand the role of the mentor, to develop the interpersonal skills required to become an effective mentor as well as developing reflection as a learning tool. A perfect opportunity to learn skills to develop the coaching workforce within your club.

FA Introductory Certificate in Coaching Adults

The course provides an introduction for coaches and managers who are involved in adult football and comprises various elements The majority of coaches choose to begin their coaching education by attending a Level 1 coaching course, which is suitable for all Levels of coaching as the sessions can be adapted from mini soccer to youth football through to adult level.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Age: 16 years
Course Duration: 12 hours inc. a FREE 3 hour Emergency Aid

PLEASE NOTE: McDonald’s courses will require a deposit which is fully refundable on completion of the course. If you fail to complete the course then you will not be eligable to receive your refundable desposit back.
